What is the Solly Baby Wrap?

The Solly Baby Wrap is a long piece of stretchy, knit, fabric that allows you to wear your baby close to your body.

What is different?

There are a lot of baby carriers out there- the Moby, Ergo, the ring sling, and a lot more. The Solly Wrap is different because of the material it is made out of. This wrap is made from a super stretchy, super thin material. It also comes in tons of colors!

The Good?

I absolutely love how thin this wrap is. Being in south Florida makes wearing your baby hard. In other carriers I try, I am instantly sweating. This one is awesome because the fabric is super breathable. I especially love the gray and white stripe design. It is so classic + beautiful. The Solly wrap is small enough that it can fit inside my diaper bag. The creator of Solly Wrap has her own YouTube channel where she shows you how to put it on. Love this! Another good thing is this doubles as a blanket or even a nursing cover if you need to! And… it’s just beautiful. It makes any outfit instantly cuter.

The Bad?

The YouTube videos definitely help when you are learning how to put this thing on, but it still is difficult the first couple of times. It took me about three times to feel confident in putting Gracie in. One thing I noticed is that I get a little tired after wearing Gracie in this after a while. Also, I think it would be hard to nurse while wearing baby in the wrap- although I bet you could.

Best for?

The Solly Baby Wrap is great for a baby’s first year or up to 25 lbs. I think it is best for babies up to 6 months. After 6 months I think Gracie may be a little heavy for me in this wrap. This wrap is perfect for moms that want to get stuff done, but don’t want to always put baby down to do things. I would also say its best for moms but dads can TOTALLY rock it!

Where?

I bought mine at Sollybaby.com . It was so hard to pick which one because they are all SO cute!

Overall?

The Wrap is kinda pricey at $65, but SO worth it! I love putting Gracie in this wrap to shop, do housework, or just to calm her down. She instantly is at peace in the Solly and usually falls right asleep. I would definitely recommend getting one!

REVIEW: mamaRoo

What is a mamaRoo?

The mamaRoo is a bouncer by 4 moms that has tons of settings that mimics the way a parent holds her baby.

What is different?

There are many bouncer seats out there, but this one really is different. It has 5 different motion settings- car ride, kangaroo, tree swing, rock-a-bye, and wave. Each setting moves the mamaRoo in a different way. You can control the settings from an app on your phone. The seat reclines in different ways so you can have the seat more straight up or more laid back, depending on what your baby prefers.

The Good?

The movement. Gracie loves the different settings, and they really do help to soothe her. Her favorite one? Rock-a-bye! For each motion, you can also change the speed. This was extremely helpful in the first couple of weeks because the motion helped Gracie to sleep. I also love how it attaches to the wall. You don’t have to worry about batteries! You can buy the newborn insert for it and it makes it way more comfy for a teeny new baby. The mamaRoo also has sound options too! It’s also just plain cute looking!

The mamaRoo was actually the first place we put Gracie when we brought her home from the hospital. We wanted to make sure that our dog could greet her in a safe spot. Gracie loved it!

The Bad?

The mamaRoo is kind of expensive compared to other bouncers. It is $269 and the newborn insert is $29. WORTH IT though! It’s also a little bulky to try to move around the house. When Gracie was a newborn, we would move it from our room to the living room. It’s not that heavy, but it is hard to move around because of it’s size. Oh and we never use the app… it seemed cool at first,  but not really practical.

Best for?

The mamaRoo is great for newborns and babies up to 25 pounds. It is also best for babies that can’t sit up yet on their own. We used it most when Gracie was first born and needed a calm place to nap.

Where?

We got ours from Buy Buy Baby. They are also at Babies R Us or sold directly from 4 moms .

Overall?

I love the mamaRoo and so does Gracie! It has always been a great place to set Gracie down when I need to cook or clean or just relax for a minute. She loves looking at the black and white mobile while sitting in it.
