Two Months Old

Height/Weight

22.5 inches (44%) and 11 lbs (35%)!

Routine

We’ve fallen into more of a routine now. Gracie still likes to sleep then eat then play. She’s been taking great naps. We also took Gracie to Marco Island for vacation and she did great! She loves being outside and feeling the fresh air. She’s extra cuddly in the morning, so I always make sure to include some lovin’ in the morning. It’s so amazing to wake up to a baby! She instantly gets me in a great mood- NO COFFEE NEEDED! (Okay- I still kinda need coffee to wake up, but she makes me happy instantly).

Sleeping

Gracie is doing pretty good with sleep! She goes to bed when we do which is around 10 or 11. But she takes great naps- and a lot of them! She pretty much falls asleep every 1.5 hours. Her naps seem to be getting longer- usually 1.5-2 hours. After she plays for a little, she will let you know that she is done. She gets pretty fussy when she is tired. But if you catch it quickly, she is easy to put down for a nap. I still like to rock her or bounce her to sleep. It’s the best feeling ever to have her fall asleep in my arms. I LOVE it!

Eating/Feeding

Breastfeeding is going much better! Gracie still eats every 2 hours. She seems to be eating a little quicker now. She is growing and is happiest when she is eating. She still wakes up a few times at night to eat, but I don’t mind! It’s actually a very peaceful time.

Two months

Sizes

Gracie actually fits into some of her newborn clothes still. She mostly wears size 0-3 clothes now though. She is wearing newborn diapers but also sometimes size 1 diapers!

Milestones

Gracie smiles a lot now! And she actually started doing some giggles! BEST SOUND EVER. Her head is getting much stronger. She sort of likes tummy time now. And she likes looking at faces!

How I feel

I feel pretty much back to normal! I think I have lost all of the pregnancy weight, although I haven’t weighed myself yet. Things seem to be fitting good! I think it’s from all of the breastfeeding because I haven’t really done any yoga! I am the happiest I’ve ever been! Being a mom is more than I ever imagined. I’m tired all the time- but I don’t even care! Gracie is so cute, fun, cuddly, and MINE! I still can’t believe she is mine!

I can’t believe she is two months already!

Height/Weight

22 inches / 9 lbs 6 oz.

Routine

We still haven’t managed to get into a steady routine yet. For the most part, Gracie sleeps, eats, plays, then sleeps again. I love wearing Gracie in the solly wrap or the ergo carrier. She loves both!

Sleeping

Gracie is now mostly sleeping in her crib. For the first few weeks, she slept in her Mamaroo at night and for naps. She seemed to like this better than her crib. She wakes up a lot to eat- but I find myself waking up to check on her anyways! She takes a lot of naps during the day. Sometimes she will sleep for an hour-2 straight, but sometimes it is only a 30 minute nap. Kinda depends!
Gracie likes sleeping on her back and swaddled in an Aden and Anais swaddle or Halo sleepsack!
We have been using the Sleep Sounder app on my phone for white noise. Gracie likes the SHHH sound or the ocean sound. It really does seem to calm her down though.

Eating/Feeding

The first two weeks of breastfeeding did not go the best. One night, I started getting horrible flu like symptoms and actually felt horrible. It was honestly worst than labor!! It ended up being mastitis- an infection caused by clogged ducts. After being put on antibiotics.. things have started getting better. Now, breastfeeding is going great. It definitely took a while for us to get used to everything. But now we seem to be getting the hang of it. Gracie eats at least every 2 hours. Sometimes I feed her sooner if she seems hungry.

Sizes

Gracie grew out of a few of her newborn onesies! But, they may have shrunk in the wash. She is still wearing newborn clothes and newborn diapers. She does not like getting her outfits changed!

Milestones

Gracie smiled! Daddy blew a raspberry on her cheek and she smiled! We both looked at each other in shock, and then she did it again! Watching her smile is so cute and melts our hearts!

How I feel

Overall, I feel good! It took about a week or two to feel sort of normal. Then, mastitis hit! I felt horrible for a few days. After that, I started feeling better :D. I am still in shock that I am a mommy! I keep looking at Gracie and I can’t believe she is really here!
Happy one month Gracie!
