If you follow along on my Instagram, you know that we just took a 10 day vacation to Savannah, Charleston, and then New York! It was so much fun- and I thought you might like to see some of our favorite moments!
To get to New York, we took the Amtrak from Deerfield Beach, Florida. We stopped at Savannah for two nights, then stopped again in Charleston for two nights. Then got back on the train to New York for a week!
Here we are at the Deerfield Beach Amtrak station! Training is a lot different than flying in many ways. But one thing we noticed is that there is not much security. We didn’t have to go through any metal detectors or get screened for anything. Our bags weren’t screened either. It’s extremely low key. Can’t decide if that’s a good or a bad thing LOL.
Inside the train was pretty cool too! There are lots of different cars. Lots of them are the coach seating, but there are also sleeper cars, a dining car, a cafe car, and sometimes a business class car. We sat in coach one trip, but then upgraded to business class!
Our first stop was Savannah, GA. It was SO beautiful! Here are some of my favorite photos from Savannah!
So many memories made in Savannah! We were only there for 2 days, but we crammed a whole lot in. Then we headed back to the train station. We had a 2 hour train trip to Charleston. Even though Savannah and Charleston are very similar, I think I liked Charleston the best. The houses were full of charm, and the whole city had all these little alleys that were so fun to walk down. We did a lot of walking and exploring in Charleston!
I am soon in love with the beauty of Charleston. I’m telling you- every where you look, there was so much charm. After our couple days in Charleston, we hopped back on the train (this was our 3rd time, now) for a FOURTEEN hour train ride to New York! This was a loooooong day on the train, but Gracie actually loved the train. She did so great. She had room to move around. She watched movies, played with toys, ate lots of snacks. It helped having family, too, so she could go back and forth with different people. Overall, she did great. I am so proud of our little traveler!
Anyways, here are some photos from New York!! We had such a blast. It was absolutely FREEEEEZING. I grew up outside Chicago, so I know cold. But after living in Florida for 5 years, I am SO not used to it.
My favorite parts of New York:
-All the festive holiday markets ALL over
– The Rudolf play (Gracie loved this!!!)
-Nutella Cafe in Eataly!
-The Rockefeller Tree (even though it was CRAZYYYYY)
-Seeing the Today Show!
-American Girl Doll Cafe!
-Top of the Rock (amazing views!)
If you made it this far- thanks for reading! I know this was a super long post, but I wanted to share some of my favorite moments. It truly was a great trip and I miss it!!!!!! I love being able to capture some of the memories with my camera and share on my blog. One day Gracie will be able to read all about her adventures :).
Where should we go next?!
