Christmas Eve Eve Traditions!

Merry Christmas Eve Eve! This is an important day for my family. We’ve celebrated Christmas Eve Eve ever since I was little. It’s a day I would always look forward to as a kid, and now I get to share the same traditions with my daughter Gracie!

When we were little, I would always go over to my cousin Rachel’s house on Christmas Eve Eve. Rachel is just about the same age as me, so we always loved being together! On Christmas Eve Eve every year, we would drink hot chocolate and my Aunt Sharon – who I called Auntie Shar – would read us the BEST Christmas books. She had the greatest reading voice and I can still remember it to this day. Sadly, my Auntie Shar passed away a little more than 10 years ago. So every year on Christmas Eve Eve, I take time to remember her and the lasting effects she had on my life!

This year, I got a package in the mail from my Uncle Gary and the Kershner Family (THANK YOU!!!!!). Inside was a bunch of hot chocolate packages and a book all wrapped up with the words “Don’t Open until Christmas Eve Eve”. I was SO excited to receive this gift. Honestly, it was one of the most heartfelt gifts I ever got! The card inside said “to help keep the tradition”. And that’s exactly what I’m going to do! Every year on Christmas Eve Eve, I will read a book with my Gracie girl about the true meaning of Christmas while we drink hot chocolate! & I will always think of my Auntie Shar 🙂
