HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY GRACIE!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRACIE! I cannot believe a whole year has flown by- it just doesn’t make sense to me! She has grown and changed so much in just one year, it’s crazy. Below are some things about Gracie that I never want to forget!

She learned how to say one with her pointer finger and saying the word “waaaahhh (one)” It’s adorable!

Talking:

+Gracie says mama, dada, tata (for auntie), duck, yum, hi, and some other baby words.

+Her first legit words were “tickle tickle” LOL! it’s the cutest.

+She likes to repeat everything we say in her own way- but has totally her own language

Foods:

+I’m pretty much only breastfeeding Gracie at night and occasionally if she has a hard time falling asleep for a nap

+She loves cheese, bread, biscuits, avocado, strawberries (unless they aren’t sweet enough), yogurt, mac & cheese

+Doesn’t love meat so much yet

+loves to feed herself!

Fun:

+Gracie loves crawling around and standing up on things

+Loves playing in front of the mirror

+Plays peek-a-boo

+loves to build forts (go under blankets with mommy)

+Loves opening and shutting drawers and cabinets

+Loooooooves any type of water especially playing in the bath

Facts:

+Gracie wears 12 month size clothes

+Hasn’t had a hair cut yet! Her hair goes all in front of her face if she doesn’t have a bow in her hair, but there’s no way I’m cutting it yet!

+Gracie usually sleeps in till about 9:00-10:00

+6 teeth!!!

+Shy at first around people but she’s a complete sweetheart once she’s warmed up to you!

Update: MONTH 11

Gracie is 11 months old! This is almost our last monthly update. It went so fast!!

Today’s an extra special day because Dave + I are also celebrating our 4 year anniversary!! Gramma baked an extra special cake today for both occasions 🙂

Height/Weight

Gracie is 20 lbs and 28 inches tall!

Routine

Gracie has been getting up a little earlier than normal. She’s usually up by 730 now. We hang out and snuggle for a bit then I drink coffee while Gracie plays for a bit. We’ve been taking a long walk in the morning since it’s still sorta cool outside. Gracie loves watching the birds and squirrels so that usually keeps her happy for a while. By abound 10-11 Gracie’s ready for a nap. She usually seeps 2 hours or so. I get ready for the day, blog, read, watch TV, clean, etc. When Gracie wakes up we eat lunch, run errands, play, have fun! Sometimes Gracie will have a second nap, and sometime not- it just depends. If she doesn’t nap, she usually likes to have some downtime of just laying down for a bit. When daddy comes home we eat dinner together and play for a while. Usually we’ll take a walk at night. Then Gracie goes to bed around 8-9!

Sleeping

We’re improving a tiny bit in the sleep department. Gracie still likes to wake up about every 2 hours to nurse but sometimes she’ll surprise me with a 4 hour chunk! I’m trying to get her to sleep only in her pack n play or crib instead of in the bed with us- so hopefully that will help things too! I’m getting used to running on little sleep now.

Eating/Feeding

I’m starting to slowly wean from nursing Gracie and feed more solids now. I nurse her before bed, and maybe 1-2 times during the day. I’m hoping to be done breastfeeding by the time she’s a year. I’ve loved every second of nursing her- it was awesome. But I feel like its really taking a toll on my body. I can’t seem to keep up my energy when breastfeeding her so much. It seems to take a lot out of me. I think Gracie is starting to eat more and more solids so hopefully everything will work out! Everything is so new to us so we’re just winging it!

Sizes

Gracie wears size 9-12 month clothes and size 3 diaper, although I think I need to move up a size.

Milestones

+Crawling like crazy!

+Loves pulling and standing

+Stands by herself for a few seconds

+points to everything

+taps on our shoulder to get our attention

+Somehow gets cuter every day LOL!

How I feel

GREAT!!!! I feel extra excited and happy because we closed on our FIRST home yesterday! We’ve waiting 7 months for this house, and I can’t believe it’s finally here!! It needs a little fixing up, but ill share pictures soon!

UPDATE: Month 10

Gracie is 10 months old! Whoooooa.

Height/Weight

Not really sure, but last time she was 18lbs, so I’m guessing a little over 19lbs!

Routine

Gracie usually wakes up around 8 or 9. We usually snuggle in bed for a bit before getting up. Then we have breakfast around 930am. Gracie plays for a while with toys + books and is usually ready for her first nap around 11 or 12 ish. She usually sleeps for about 2 hours. When she wakes up we eat lunch and play some more. Usually this is where I try to get out of the house a bit or take Gracie on a walk. Or run some errands. Gracie loves being out and about. Usually around 4-5 ish Gracie takes another small nap. It kinda just depends on the day. For a few days this month she did pretty good on just one nap. But she’s slowly going back to wanting that second nap in the afternoon. After dinner Gracie usually goes to sleep around 9. But she’s been teething so sometimes it’s more like 11.

Sleeping

Gracie usually takes 2 naps. She’s super easy to put down for naps, and usually falls right asleep. Lately though, she’s been having a hard time falling asleep at night. We think it’s because her top teeth are breaking through, but do we ever really know? She still does not sleep through the night. She wakes up about every 2-4 hours to nurse, then goes back asleep. We’ve had some really rough nights this month with teething so that’s been a little hard. But, overall I try not to complain about it! She really is a great baby. And I know one day she WILL sleep through the night. This won’t last forever!

Eating/Feeding

Gracie still loves nursing + loves solids! I feed her solids at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Usually she has bites of what were having, but she also LOVES the food pouches. She pretty much likes any flavor. She also still loves puffs and yogurt! I nurse Gracie whenever she wants to but usually ends up being before naps and bed and of course all night long. Not really but about every 2-4 hours at night.

Sizes

Gracie wears size 9 month clothes and still in size 3 diaper!

Milestones

+Gracie is CRAWLING! She’s been crawling for about 2 weeks I think.

+Loves pulling up on everything

+Loves “dancing” when music comes on

+Feeds herself

+Babbles a lot

How I feel

Tired but happy!
