JW Marco Island Marriott Review // Lanai Suites!

JW Marco Island Marriott Review – Lanai Suites

We just got back from an amazing stay at the JW Marco Island Marriott. It was INCREDIBLE.

We’ve been to Marco Island MANY times – Dave’s parents own a house on the island! So we got a lot. We are in love with the island + have already made so many memories here. We’ve actually been to the JW Marco Island Marriott a few times before to eat, but we have never stayed here yet – until now!

We stayed in the newly renovated Lanai Suites + holy moly are they nice! They are very spacious – a large living room with a pull out sofa + then a huge master bedroom. The suites also have 2 bathrooms! My favorite thing about the suite was the VIEW. You are so close to the sand, and your view is of the beautiful gulf + all of the Marriott’s chickee huts! With kids, this is the ULTIMATE room because you have easy access to the beach + you are super close to the resort’s pools!

We had the sweetest little gifts waiting for us when we got there! Thank you JW Marco Island Marriott!

Gracie loved staying at this resort. The JW Marco Island Marriott has 2 huge pools (actually more if you count the adults only spa pools!). And they have a cute little splash pad area with a waterslide, too! Gracie had so much fun in this pool! It’s the perfect place for kids to splash around. Gracie also LOVED that there was a Menchies on the property! Her favorite after dinner snack!

An amazing thing about this hotel is that you can rent cabanas on the beach! These are really convenient when you have kids because you can have a little shady place to rest! There is an amazing little truck going up and down the beach all day ready to take your drink + food orders. Too cool! We definitely enjoyed having a cabana, just to have a break from the sun for a bit. The loungers are SO comfy, too!

Donovan woke up SO early one morning, and I took him outside and we had the most magical rainbow!! It stretched over the whole beach + was just so gorgeous. It made waking up early, a tad bit better ;).

We travel with our a kids a LOT. When family and friends ask where they should take their kiddos on vacation, we ALWAYS recommend Marco Island. It’s such a cute little beachy town, yet has lots of fun things to do with the kids! I definitely recommend staying at the JW Marco Island Marriott while you’re here!

Best Beach Rental in New Smyrna Beach

We just got home from our amazing beach vacation in New Smyrna Beach! Donovan is 2 months old + we started to get a bit of cabin fever so we made plans for a 5-day getaway to New Smyrna Beach (3 hours north of us). We found the perfect house for our family + Dave’s parents and sister! It was even more beautiful than we could have even imagined, so I had to share it with you guys! The funny thing is that the house was so beautiful that we never really left it for the whole 5 days LOL!

We rented it from VRBO (Vacation Rentals By Owner). Here’s the link to rent it!

The house is super modern + has an amazing curb appeal! Here’s what it looks like from the street:

And here’s what it looks like from the ocean. I did mention it was oceanfront, right? It’s literally ON TOP of the water. When the tide is high, there’s barely any sand so it feels like you are actually in the ocean.

Gracie loved when it was lower tide so we could play in the sand. She LOVED playing on the beach.

The inside was INSANE. Every part of the house is custom built. The walls are curved, and the furniture fits perfect with it. There are four floors – separated by this gorgeous spiral staircase. There is also an elevator!

My favorite part was the view. Every where you look, there was the ocean. There are huge windows that just stretch across the entire house. It’s breathtaking. Not a bad view for work.

There are three bedrooms, each with a king bed and a bathroom. The master bedroom is on the third floor and has an awesome bathroom and amazing views!

The top floor has an amazing patio deck with views of both sunrise and sunset!

We loved the huge white kitchen! We cooked EVERY meal at home! That’s a first for our vacations!

Every morning we drank our coffee outside watching the waves + surfers!

Then we would hang out on the beach, play board games, or just stare at the view. Walks on the beach were fun- all the homes were fun to look at!

Summer With Baby

Summer Essentials with Pampers and Babies R Us! Summer with a baby - www.gracefulmommy.com

I cannot believe June starts tomorrow! Summer is HERE! This year, we have a few trips + activities planned for this Summer and I am so excited! Gracie is almost 2 and she’s really starting to enjoy our short vacays! We just recently went on a long weekend beach trip and I’m ready to share some tips + tricks that we learned. Hopefully it will help your summer trips go more smoothly! We all need more of that. LOL.

*This post is sponsored by Pampers + Babies “R” Us, but all opinions, photos, and video are my own! *

TIP #1 – Go to Babies “R” Us before your Summer getaway! They have everything you need from sippy cups, to insulated cooler bags, an endless supply of Pampers diapers, and even Dreft detergent to help get out those pesky vacation stains! I love Babies “R” Us because it really is a one stop shop for all Gracie’s needs – especially stocking up on diapers.

TIP #2 – Go with the FLOW. On vacation, it’s good to have a plan not necessarily an itinerary. When the days are TOO scheduled, it leads to stress. Have an easy-going plan, and be okay when it has to change. Gracie was NOT supposed to find this puddle of water and get soaking wet in her clothes, but it’s okay. We took her back to get changed + bathed and then we went on with our night! That’s the fun part about vacation!

PS- Gracie was wearing Pampers swaddlers during her little *accidental beach swim* and although her diaper was full it actually still wasn’t LEAKING. I swear these things are magic. You’ll always find these in my diaper bag.

TIP #3 – Get a hotel room or a house with a washer + dryer. Okay, no one likes to do laundry on vacation. But you know what’s worse? Doing loads of laundry when you get home. I always like to book our trips with a washer + dryer. Gracie is a messy girl and always gets stains on her gorgeous vacation clothes. When we are done for the day, I use my Dreft stain remover to get out the tough stains. Then I wash her clothes with Dreft detergent and they look like new!

TIP #4 – Wear baby out. LOL. I love this about vacation. All the beaching, boating, and swimming wears Gracie out so MUCH. She always sleeps really great on our getaways. Sometimes she’ll sleep till 11 AM. I’m not even kidding. It’s GLORIOUS. We always make sure to put a dry Pampers Swaddlers on her at night after her bath. Pampers Swaddlers have up to 12 hours of overnight protection – which helps Gracie sleep even longer. I also love the color changing strip on these diapers. It helps to know when she’s gone when we are out and about on vacation.

TIP #5 – Have fun! Seriously, enjoy this time with your little ones. Make time for adventures + take a million photos and videos. Have you ever thought about this? You only have 18 SUMMERS with your little one before they are off on their own. EIGHTEEN. Make the most of it!!
