Honey Huggers Review

Learning to crawl with Honey Huggers! Read more at gracefulmommy.com

Our little Gracie girl has started “crawling!” She’s not full on crawling yet, but she knows how to get where she wants. She mostly goes backwards, which is adorable! But, she’s quickly realizing that she can move around. Uh oh for mommy! I’m going to have to start chasing her around soon, right!?

In the midst of Gracie’s learn-to-crawl phase, we’ve discovered an amazing company called Honey Huggers! Honey Huggers makes these adorable leggings that you can purchase with pads or without pads! They are created by a mom who wanted to protect her kids knees from hard flooring. And that’s exactly what they do. Honey Huggers kindly sent Gracie a pair (and an adorable matching bib!!), but all of these opinions are my own! We have hard flooring throughout our place and it makes it hard for Gracie to learn to crawl. Honey Huggers are designed to give baby a little extra padding for the knees so they can practice anywhere!

You don’t even need a rug down when using Honey Huggers, but Gracie needed a little extra motivation today for crawling practice, and this furry rug always does the trick. She likes lifting up and feeling the fur! Think about all of the places your baby can use Honey Huggers: at the playground, on the patio, hardwood floors, any rugs that aren’t soft… you get it. These are amazing.

Honey Huggers are made out of a sanded ringspun cotton spandex blend that stretches to fit. They are super comfy for Gracie. And the spandex makes them stay in place, too. For the best performance, it’s recommended to scrunch the bottom up on baby’s calf. This seems to work great.

Also, the knee pad in the middle is the perfect amount of padding. And the pattern is just adorable. Check out all of Honey Huggers styles because they have a lot of cute options! And great styles for boys, too! You can also purchase just the leggings- with no padding.

Another reason why I love these Honey Huggers is because they go with any outfit. They are perfect for rompers, onesies, and dresses. And they make changing diapers super easy because you don’t have to take anything off! I think these make a super cute baby shower gift, too!

Time is truly “hopping” away! I cannot believe it’s Easter already! We had a wonderful day celebrating the true meaning of today: Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.

Gracie spent her first Easter surrounded by family, love, + mom’s camera. LOL! Jk, but of course, we did have to have an Easter photoshoot. Let’s just say when Gracie’s older, she’s going to have some great “throwback Thursday” photos to share! Haha!

Swaddle Designs: Review and Giveaway

GIVEAWAY + Review! Swaddle Designs new muslin singles! Adorable black + white designs. Read more at Gracefulmommy.com

The first time I heard about swaddling was at a birth class my husband Dave and I attended. We were taught how to swaddle using doll babies and tiny hospital blankets. Everyone in the class could NOT figure out the whole swaddling thing. They were all falling apart and looked nothing like “the picture”. After that class I kept hearing about swaddling, so I started to realize how important it was. When Gracie came, we swaddled her all the time! I watched tons of youtube videos on how to swaddle, and finally figured it out. Swaddling Gracie helped her sleep better because it allowed her to not wake up due to that startle reflux newborns have. Swaddling is also said to help prevent against SIDS. By having baby properly swaddled with their face up, they are less likely to fidget and roll to their tummy. Swaddling is also great because it means baby can’t scratch their face in the middle of the night! One thing I would recommend is to NOT use the hospital blankets for swaddling. These are way too small. One of my favorite swaddle brand is Swaddle Designs.

Swaddle Designs kindly sent Gracie 2 of their new Muslin swaddle singles (but all of these opinions are my own!). Swaddle Designs swaddles are made from high quality fabric. They are very well made. I love how soft they are, and they actually get softer each time you wash them. They have the cutest prints and designs. I love their new black and white collection. We have the hedgehog and the lilies, but they also have an XOXO print and a panda print. So adorable!

We stopped swaddling Gracie to sleep at about 4.5 months old. Now, Gracie is almost 9 months old, but I still use these swaddle blankets! There are so many uses for these muslin swaddles.

1//Nursing Cover- Just tie two ends together and put your head through! So easy + quick. It’s so breathable, which is perfect while baby eats.

2//Sun Shade- Either put it up in the car to block the sun, or use over the stroller if its extra sunny on a walk!

3//Blanket- Gracie loves snuggling with these!

4//Burp Cloth- You never know when you’ll need one.

5//Picnic Blanket- We love to throw these outside for Gracie to play on!

6//Changing pad cover- Sometimes you have to use the public changer, and in that case, I always put a swaddle down first. When I get home I just throw it in the wash!
