First Trimester Favorites

First of all- I cannot believe I’m pregnant again! It’s just crazy! And second- I’m shocked that the first trimester is already over. This pregnancy is going much faster than Gracie’s. I think it’s because I’m so busy with Gracie that moments are just flying by. Anyways, I wanted to share my favorite items I used during my first trimester. These are some great products that I used weekly, if not daily the last 12 weeks.

ONE+ Bella B Mama Soak. This stuff is awesome. I’m not a HUGE bath person, but when I am pregnant, I crave baths. I think this Bella B bath powder is actually created for after birth- to heal and soothe. But, it’s safe to use during pregnancy (or anytime actually!). It smells delicious because it contains extract of acai, green tea, and pomegranate. Definitely makes a normal bath feel like a trip to the spa.

TWO+ Psi Bands. While I haven’t had the worst morning sickness this pregnancy (thank God!). I have had occasional bouts of nausea. We also traveled a bit these 12 weeks so my Psi Bands were a MUST. Psi Bands are wrist bands that help relieve nausea due to morning sickness, traveling, and even chemotherapy. They work by using acupressure. I used them on my trip to New York and our several road trips! Lifesavers!

THREE+ Preggie Pop Drops. These ginger candies really helped when I would start to feel sick. My morning sickness only comes after I eat certain foods (like Mexican), so I always keep a few of these in my purse just in case something doesn’t sit right.

FOUR+ Little Nugget App. This app is amazing! There are over 450+ stickers and artwork to help you decorate and capture moments from your pregnancy as well as baby’s life! I use this app to draw on my bump photos as well as the ultrasound pics! It’s super fun + extremely easy to use! And you can print your photos from the app!

FIVE+ Bump Journal from Polka dot Print Shop. This book is so awesome. It’s designed to help you document the precious moments throughout your pregnancy. There are journal and photo pages to help you keep track of baby’s growth and pregnancy memories. I love the look of it too! I opted for more of a gender neutral color 🙂

Toddler Capsule Wardrobe with Carter’s

Building a capsule wardrobe for your toddler (with Carter's!) www.gracefulmommy.com

I first heard about capsule wardrobes about a year ago when I started falling in love with minimalism. A capsule wardrobe is basically a simplified closet, full of essentials and pieces that are easy to mix and match. It’s about having quality items to wear, over quantity!

I’ve slowly turned my closet into a capsule wardrobe by only keeping a few of my favorite tops, jeans, shorts, and shoes. All my items are neutral- they are easily mixed and matched to create lots of different outfits. Now it’s time to do Gracie’s closet. Because of my job as a brand photographer + blogger, we have accumulated TONS of clothes. Lots of these items are things Gracie has only worn once- either because they are too fancy or they are seasonal. I just got done cleaning out her whole closet and donating her clothes to a friend. What’s left in her closet are ESSENTIALS, mostly clothes from Carter’s new Little Baby Basics line.

To start a capsule wardrobe for your little one, I first recommend stocking up on the basics from Carter’s. I got so many adorable neutral onesies that go with everything. They are so cute, yet extremely simple (my style exactly!). You can get patterned bodysuits or even the basic white bodysuit. Whatever style you like, Carter’s has it! I love how their bodysuits come in sets. This makes doing a capsule wardrobe so easy! Doing a capsule wardrobe is perfect for all ages from babies to toddlers! It’s always good to have basics for your little ones!

Having a baby changes things. Instead of spending 2 hours at the mall slowly trying on things for myself, I now find myself at Carter’s shopping for Gracie! LOL! Carter’s understands that life is unpredictable. That’s why they made the basics line. This is everything you need for all the changes in life.

One tip for starting a capsule wardrobe is to stick with a color scheme. This way you can make tons of outfits out of not that many clothes!

Other Tips for a Capsule Wardrobe for your little one:

1+ Seek out QUALITY items that last – This is why I go to Carter’s for our basics. They have the BEST quality bodysuits that are guaranteed to last for a long time.

2+ Use online discounts to save money! Here’s an awesome coupon for Carter’s. Now is the best time to stock up on basics from their Little Baby Basics collection.

3+ Hang up your kids clothes! I always prefer hanging Gracie’s clothes. I feel like they last longer, but this might just be my theory. I also just think baby clothes are so much cuter hung!

Summer With Baby

Summer Essentials with Pampers and Babies R Us! Summer with a baby - www.gracefulmommy.com

I cannot believe June starts tomorrow! Summer is HERE! This year, we have a few trips + activities planned for this Summer and I am so excited! Gracie is almost 2 and she’s really starting to enjoy our short vacays! We just recently went on a long weekend beach trip and I’m ready to share some tips + tricks that we learned. Hopefully it will help your summer trips go more smoothly! We all need more of that. LOL.

*This post is sponsored by Pampers + Babies “R” Us, but all opinions, photos, and video are my own! *

TIP #1 – Go to Babies “R” Us before your Summer getaway! They have everything you need from sippy cups, to insulated cooler bags, an endless supply of Pampers diapers, and even Dreft detergent to help get out those pesky vacation stains! I love Babies “R” Us because it really is a one stop shop for all Gracie’s needs – especially stocking up on diapers.

TIP #2 – Go with the FLOW. On vacation, it’s good to have a plan not necessarily an itinerary. When the days are TOO scheduled, it leads to stress. Have an easy-going plan, and be okay when it has to change. Gracie was NOT supposed to find this puddle of water and get soaking wet in her clothes, but it’s okay. We took her back to get changed + bathed and then we went on with our night! That’s the fun part about vacation!

PS- Gracie was wearing Pampers swaddlers during her little *accidental beach swim* and although her diaper was full it actually still wasn’t LEAKING. I swear these things are magic. You’ll always find these in my diaper bag.

TIP #3 – Get a hotel room or a house with a washer + dryer. Okay, no one likes to do laundry on vacation. But you know what’s worse? Doing loads of laundry when you get home. I always like to book our trips with a washer + dryer. Gracie is a messy girl and always gets stains on her gorgeous vacation clothes. When we are done for the day, I use my Dreft stain remover to get out the tough stains. Then I wash her clothes with Dreft detergent and they look like new!

TIP #4 – Wear baby out. LOL. I love this about vacation. All the beaching, boating, and swimming wears Gracie out so MUCH. She always sleeps really great on our getaways. Sometimes she’ll sleep till 11 AM. I’m not even kidding. It’s GLORIOUS. We always make sure to put a dry Pampers Swaddlers on her at night after her bath. Pampers Swaddlers have up to 12 hours of overnight protection – which helps Gracie sleep even longer. I also love the color changing strip on these diapers. It helps to know when she’s gone when we are out and about on vacation.

TIP #5 – Have fun! Seriously, enjoy this time with your little ones. Make time for adventures + take a million photos and videos. Have you ever thought about this? You only have 18 SUMMERS with your little one before they are off on their own. EIGHTEEN. Make the most of it!!
